The Moment That Stuck
We were in a Starbucks recently when we walked a close friend — a marketing executive — through Lanyard for the first time. We showed her what we were solving for, how it worked, and the features on the platform. She asked good questions. Then we pulled up the landing page that details all the insights Lanyard compiles, and she paused, the way someone does when they see something genuinely novel, and said:
"This is amazing, I love it!"
That moment hasn't left me.
Over the past few weeks we've had a lot of conversations like that one. Wealth managers, technologists, friends, neighbors, family, and anyone who will take a look quite frankly. What keeps coming back from those conversations is that people don't just see the product — they immediately see themselves in it. They start talking about their own situation and the challenges they're facing. They offer ideas we hadn't thought of and want to see implemented. That tells us something important: we're not solving a problem people have to be convinced they have.
I couldn't be more excited about what's ahead. I'll share more soon. Until then, pick one thing today that you can do a little different, a little better and go after it. That's what this is all about.
I'll close the way I end all our meetings at Lanyard:
What am I missing?
